See ya later ‘Merica

3 December 2013

After spending a little over a week with friends and family for the holiday and even squeezing in some Christmas time festivities, it is time to begin our international adventure!   We had so much fun actually having the chance to celebrate Thanksgiving in the bay, a first for the both of us in about 8 years.  And as we get ready to fly out, it doesn’t feel all that frightening anymore, just exciting that we are really doing this and going to live out of our backpacks for the next 11 months.  Now it’s time to enjoy!

Ready, Set, Go!

It is bittersweet leaving San Diego. It’s the place where Adam and I met, got married and had our first house.  It is where I met some of my best friends and have called home for the last twelve years. I leave with so many great memories, a belly full of fish tacos, carnitas, and delicious IPA’s knowing that we will be back, but who knows for how long.

Our last day in San Diego

Our last day in San Diego

Feeling pretty much every emotion possible over the last four months as I knew we were seriously preparing to sell our home and pack away our belongings for a year of adventure, I couldn’t be more excited to go!  I think we have planned as much as we can and have made sure to pack the essentials, yes the wine glasses are essential, and can’t wait to see all the places I have been day dreaming about while running salesfeorce reports.

For the next 11ish months we will be chronicling our adventures and mis-adventures here. Hope you enjoy! And if you have any recommendations on where to stay or eat along our travels feel free to leave a comment or email me.

I think we can fit one more box in here. Don't worry, we only had a few miles to drive like this.
